Principal Product Designer · Founding AI Accelerator · Designs by building
Portrait of Travis Rea

I design product direction—then build it with AI to prove it.

Not a handoff-only designer. I helped spin up Ayin’s AI Accelerator Team as one of two founding members—framing hard healthcare problems, designing systems and workflows, and using Claude Code and GenAI to ship working prototypes that validate strategy, then enabling others to do the same. Eight years of enterprise UX; open to Boise, Bend (onsite or hybrid), and remote.

What I bring to product teams

GenAI product design, complex enterprise workflows, and design systems—plus working prototypes that prove direction before the org commits. Built daily as a co-founder of the AI Accelerator Team.

Principal Product Designer Mar 2023 – Present · Co-founder, AI Accelerator Team Senior Product Designer Nov 2017 – Mar 2023

Ayin Health Solutions

  • AI Accelerator: one of two founding members—stood up the team’s charter and practice: prove org priorities via AI-assisted prototyping, ship AI workflow products, enable teams with Claude Code & LLMs.
  • Designed/proved AI Claims Adjudication and Ayin Iris (in-app inquiries → analyst ticket workflow with secured PHI; $250K+ annual savings).
  • Enable internal teams’ tooling: self-serve report generation; monitor OHA & government sources for latest guidance/rules.
  • Built Ayin Wiki (Bedrock + MCP) and converted the Figma design system for LLM use—new projects start with design elements aligned to internal/external products.
  • Design guidance + Claude Code / LLM coaching so colleagues can build ideas into working prototypes.
  • Earlier: established Figma design system; pre-auth redesign (90% fewer errors); care management; rebrand + company website.
Product Designer Feb 2016 – Nov 2017

SIX CRM

  • Designed relationship management and subscription e-commerce in a fast startup environment.
  • Stakeholder interviews, design system, rapid prototypes, multi-tenant testing—product acquired by a competitor.
Dedicated Crew Chief Apr 2004 – Apr 2010

United States Air Force

  • Supervised and mentored teams maintaining high-value aircraft systems; high-stakes reliability, safety, and communication under pressure.

Designer who ships. Builder who designs.

I’m Travis—based in Central Oregon, targeting roles where product design meets real AI tooling: agentic platforms, GenAI product surfaces, and teams that need someone who can build with Claude Code while still owning craft, research, and systems.

Most of my career has been in healthcare operations software: dense data, multi-tenant rules, and partners who feel every broken form in their SLA metrics. That background transfers cleanly to enterprise AI products—where ambiguity is high and trust is the product.

Education: Associate of Computer Science, Web Design & Interactive Media, The Art Institute of Pittsburgh (3.87 GPA, Dean’s List).

Let’s talk about the role

Open to Boise and Bend (onsite or hybrid), fully remote, and AI product / design engineer roles.
